Market Place from Cocker Bridge postcard 1903 when Huddart Printer Bookseller was double fronted, but the left side was destroyed by the Cocker in a flood in 1937. On the right is Cumberland Boot & Shoe of Rydiard; next is Johnston clothing with gas lamps hanging from their frontage. Note the hand cart and horse cart when vehicles were rare. Boys in plus fours and girls with aprons. Note the trees planted in 1887 for Queen Victoria's Jubilee. c 1890
